Summary

Legal Benchmarking Group (LBG) is seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Entry-Level Data Analyst to join our Chennai-based Research & Data team. This role is ideal for early-career professionals interested in data cleaning, quality assurance, legal and financial research, and structured data operations. The analyst will support lawyer ranking publishing, deal uploading, data entry, survey data cleaning and dataset management across LBG's global products. This position offers strong learning opportunities, cross-team collaboration and exposure to global research standards.

Responsibilities

• Support accurate and timely CMS publishing of lawyer & firm rankings, data collection and data research
• Collect, clean, validate, and structure data from multiple internal and external sources.
• Perform data QA checks to ensure consistency and reliability.
• Support production workflows including extraction, cleaning, QA, mapping, and upload tasks.
• Work with Excel-based tools (formulas, pivot tables, lookups) to manage high-volume datasets.
• Assist with automation initiatives using Python or advanced Excel methods when required.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams across regions to ensure smooth data flow.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High attention to detail, accuracy, and data hygiene.
• Good communication and collaboration ability.
• Comfortable in handling large datasets under tight timelines.
• Ability to work independently and adapt quickly during peak production periods.
• Proficiency in Excel (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, functions) and MS Office tools.
• Basic knowledge of Python (pandas, NumPy) & SQL preferred.
• Ability to learn new processes and work on new tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields.
• 0–1 year of experience in data cleaning, reporting, or analytics (internships count).
• Strong online research and data gathering skills.
• Fluent in English.
